[Do yourself a favor and fight that urge to 'skim over' these verses I shared here for you. Take your time and read them...let them sink in]
“Another parable Jesus put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matt. 13:24-30)
“Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”
He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness (sin), and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matt. 13:36-43)
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts...” (Mal. 4:1). “Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” (Mal. 3:18)
“Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
– Jesus (Matt. 7:17-20)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)
“So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives (hearts). Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.” (1 Cor. 4:5 -NLT)

Are you familiar with the word ‘irony’? - In simplest terms, [irony] occurs in both literature and in life whenever a person says something or does something that departs from what they (or we) expect them to say or do.
I would be lying if I said I was not captivated by all the turmoil and division surrounding what we as a nation should do with all the undocumented (“illegal”) humans that reside in this country. I am also heartbroken as well. The amount of ‘mixed messages’ that are being sent out by our words and actions are in no short supply. And please believe me when I say it’s not the immigration policies of this country I want to debate; rather it is the way in which we as "Christians" are dealing with the divisive and polarized views that I feel compelled to address.
What if some of this is just a ‘test’ to reveal what is really in our hearts? And I’m speaking to many who would call themselves ‘Christian Conservatives’. I have two issues to point out and while some might use the word ‘hypocrisy’ to describe many of the actions and views being expressed from this ‘group’, I lean more towards using that word ‘irony’ or ‘ironic’. Allow me to explain....
I see/hear many make the case that when it comes to all these protest gatherings we hear about of late, that those ‘protestors’ are nothing but ‘radical leftist’ who are hell bent on destroying this country as they rally to defend "rapist, murderers, and violent criminals" who are here in this country illegally’. Do you really believe that is what they (crowds of protestors) want to do...and who they are 'defending'?
And yet...and yet...and yet...when thousands of ‘God fearing, conservative Christian Americans’ gathered around the Capital on January 6, 2021, wanting to ‘peacefully convey’ their concerns for this country... we saw some ugly actions take place. I know many of you who would align yourself with that crowed, on that day... truly bristle and bow up when you hear that term ‘insurrectionist’ applied to the whole group as they ‘attempted to burn the Capital down while demanding that the VP be hanged publicly’. Do you really believe that accurately described all those who gathered that day in DC? Do you not see the conflicting message...or ‘irony’ here? We can’t have it both ways with our broad brush strokes.
One more example of some glaring ‘irony’ that I see; and it has to do with how we should handle the millions of ‘illegals’ in this country. For those who want them ‘all removed’...and would suggest if they want to come back, do it ‘legally’...the ‘right way’, allow me ask you this: Suppose a family with no proof of ‘citizenship’ is brought before an immigration court to be questioned and eventually ‘deported; and when asked to prove their right to be here, the father stands before the official and states publicly...”I believe in this Country and all that it stands for and I have accepted the President of the US as my 'personal president'...and I’m sorry I did not come here through the proper channels.” Should that be enough to satisfy all the naysayers as we then welcome that family in as ‘legal citizens’ of this country?
I mean...is that not how most churches today teach...that we ‘sinners 'get to become citizens of heaven’?....’just repeat these words after me and say this prayer...’. (See my message from this past Monday for more clarification)
Meanwhile...Jesus is scrunching His face and throwing His arms up and saying to us: “Wait a minute...did I not say this ‘door of entry into my kingdom...was a narrow one and only a few would find it’ (Matt. 7:13-14)? And that if anyone wanted to follow Me...they would need to ‘count the cost...take up a cross as they forsook all...if they wanted to be a part of My kingdom?” (Luke 14:26-33). And what about the part where I made it clear: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of My Father who is in heaven?” (Matt. 7:21).
As previously stated...I have no simple answers to our immigration mess in this country, nor am I attempting to 'fix it'. My main concerns are wanting to encourage us to ‘examine our hearts’ (2 Cor. 13:5) and make sure we have the proper and necessary ‘documentation’ (fruit) that affirms our ‘citizenship’ in heaven. (Phil. 3:20)
You do realize one is not prone to taking things seriously enough...when they are...'asleep'. (Matt. 25:1-5; Eph. 5:14-17; Rom.13:11)
