Resist him.
Give him no place.
Having done all to stand against him...stand therefore. We are not ignorant of his schemes and devices. He desires to ‘sift you as wheat’ in order to test you, and devour you, ‘as a lion would’. And it’s not as if you have yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. (like Jesus did)
And let’s be clear here: There are serious consequences if you don’t...do as instructed here. Things could get bad quickly...if not worse for you.
The struggle is real; But so is God.
It should also be pointed out here that by no means should we be afraid of him. God alone is to be feared. Nor should we be preoccupied with him; on the contrary...set your mind on things above. We’ve been given the necessary tools, or weapons...to successfully stand against and overcome him. We were made to be ‘more than conquerors’
Yes, the struggle is real; But again...so is God.
And it is only by the power of His grace can you stand and do all things. And you better make use of that which God has provided. You really don’t want to hear Him say to you...”what more could I have done” to make this work for you...Depart from Me you who continue to yield...”
You do know we will all stand before God and given an account.
Don’t stop resisting; and don’t stop enduring. Yes, the struggle is real, but the "sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” And the 'sufferings' we speak of are those that come when one 'denies themself and puts to death the deeds of the flesh'.
Those who endure till the end shall be saved. And there are rewards for sure...to those who overcome. This overcoming is possible and guaranteed by the ‘blood of the Lamb’, but also keep in mind that you have to lay down your ‘life’; failure to not love your life till the end will prove to be unfortunate to those who try to ‘save’, or hold on to it. (‘life’ = old carnal man/nature- he needs to be put to death and die)
In case you are still needing that second cup of coffee and have yet to figure out who I am referring to here and who we are to ‘resist’ given we are in a real ‘war’, I am speaking about the ‘devil, Satan...the serpent of old who deceives the whole world’.
Lots of people chuckle and roll their eyes the minute you start talking about some ‘devil’, given many think that if anything...he is just the subject of ‘poetic language’, a ‘metaphor’ in passing; not to be taken seriously. Laugh if you will, but know he is laughing with you...and at you. You’ve been deceived and he has pulled the ‘wool over your eyes’ with a ‘veil’ of sorts. If you want that veil removed, you need to turn to the Lord, and He will remove it...opening up your ‘blind eyes’, just like He did for many when He walked the earth...’healing all who were oppressed by...the devil’. (Imagine that!)
Having these promises, my friends...let us cleanse ourselves from ALL filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God; for without this holiness, no one will see God. We ought to be about the business of making ourselves ready as we purify ourselves...as He is pure.
Be careful, for failure to follow through on these things will cause your heart to be weighed down and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
One last reminder here for today: IF...you are not abiding in Jesus, then you are under the control and influence of the ‘wicked one’ along with the rest of the world. If you are continuing to practice sin, you are not abiding in Him and the wicked one can indeed ‘touch you’. But even then, there is the hope of some redeeming values when God allows him to ‘touch you’, believe it or not. But Oh...the great promises to those who do abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Ps. 91)
The Struggle is real; But so is God. Draw near to Him; repent...and surrender your life to Him; not just for one ceremonial moment in a religious act; start to follow Him because that is who the real ‘sheep’ are and what the true ‘children of God’ do.
If you think I made all these statements up, or these are ‘my words’, think again. All these ‘thoughts’ and warnings are taken straight from your Bible and I have listed every single reference below here. You are only cheating yourself if you fail to look them up.
And if you believe none of this has anything to do with whether you are ‘saved’ or not...well... believe what you want, close your eyes and roll over and go back to sleep. That is what foolish virgins do when they ‘grow at ease in Zion’ and complacency settles in. This is pretty common for those who have been misled to ‘receive another gospel and follow another Jesus’. We were also warned about that happening as well. In fact, the ‘majority’ of folks will end up taking that path and we know where it leads.
Yes, the struggle is real, but so is God!
