Do you find it offensive to even be asked to consider that just maybe we have been teaching, and preaching, and believing ...the wrong gospel? Or, as Paul referred to it - as “another” or “different” gospel. (2 Cor. 11:4; Gal. 1:6-9)

If that doesn’t land well with you, have you ever questioned as to why that would even disturb you in such a way? No, seriously...take a moment and give that some thought. Are you absolutely convinced that YOU...could never be wrong about such a thing? And why is that so? Didn’t Paul tell us to examine ourselves to make sure Christ is truly in us? (2 Cor. 13:5). Did he not admonish anyone who was overly confident to ‘take heed lest they fall’? (1 Cor. 10:12)

Friends- for the past three years, I have been here almost daily sharing with you things that I have been discovering buried in our beloved Bibles...scripture after scripture that when laid out...paints a different picture than what many of us have been raised to believe. And I make no effort to hide the fact that this is about as serious as anything I have ever come to learn. There has been widespread deception in the ‘church’ and world today and yes, I realize what kind of ‘red flags’ that sends up in folks who read or hear such talk. No doubt many who have visited here reading these things have probably been ‘advised’ to avoid such chatter. But please be reminded: I have not asked anyone here to ‘believe’ what I have been posting; on the contrary, all I have asked is that you would study these things out for yourselves...examining the scriptures to see if what I am sharing is truth. That’s what they did back in those early days of the early church’s growth. (Acts 17:11)

Only a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ would counsel you to not read scripture for yourself but rather trust them to tell you what the Bible means. I mean after all, they are the wise and prudent who obviously know more than you could ever know. There’s just one glaring problem with that mindset when it comes to understanding scripture: Jesus made it clear that the Father hides or conceals the mysteries of His kingdom from the ‘wise and the prudent’ and ‘reveals it to the babes’ who come to Him with their whole heart. (Luke 10:21; Matt. 13:11)

Do you know what would cause you to take exception or be offended to being asked to maybe go back and re-examine scripture to make sure what you have been taught is sound and true? Spiritual pride would do that. As we all should know, pride has a way of blinding us from seeing truth. I mean, let’s be real here...who are the ones that were always confronting Jesus and questioning Him about what He was teaching? It was the Pharisees and Sadducees and chief priest and elders in the temples who took exception to what Jesus taught and did among the people. (Luke 20:1-2). They were so steeped in their religious pride that they did not even recognize ‘truth’ when He was standing right in front of them. In fact, they were so blinded to truth that they nailed The Truth to a tree. There’s just one problem with that: God’s truth has always stood the test of time; always has and always will. And the best part of experiencing His truth is that it brings true freedom. (John 8:32-36)

But you have to receive it first (John 1:11-12) and there usually is some humility that comes with it. Join me tomorrow?
